Diminishing services at the Moi university dispensary

A Health facility should be a place where good health care is provided. Moi University has a Health facility that offers services to students and the entire community living near to this campus. Such service includes small clinics for outpatient and doctors urgent care for any inpatient reserved for diagnosis and treatment of a conditions affecting the person.
Over a couple of days students have been complaining over the poor services offered at the health centre but no one seems  to  respond to the issue, it saddens to have a patient whose laboratory results confirming of malaria and the other  one whose results indicates of typhoid being given the same curative drugs. Job keino a student in 3rd year shared with the pillar newspaper how he was told by a medic at Moi university hospital that he was not sick but because he didn’t felt well, he paid a visit to kesses dispensary where he was confirmed pneumonic. One would ask what brings the difference in diagnosis. Are the medics taught different syllabuses at their training schools or there is negligence of staff not take up their duties.
Furthermore Julius kiprop a 3rd year student in the school of arts and social sciences discloses how he was affirmed of allergies at the same facility but ended up being admitted at Moi teaching and referral hospital for chronic cerebral malaria. “the  laboratory department at the facility do not have the required reagents to perform  laboratory tests such as microbiology, hematology, clinical biochemistry, immunology and  serology” ”that is what brings the difference in the tests  done at the hospital” Mr. Julius said.
The pharmacy department also has its own shortcomings when it comes to dispensing of drugs; there are no enough drugs in stock to be dispensed. Many students who get to the hospital are given painkillers just to curb the devastating situation they in, such drugs include amoxyln, brufen and piriton. One would ask, how often do the hospital order for drugs? Students have ended up seeking services from kesses dispensary which is some few kilometers from the campus.
Moi university hospital is a property of Moi university that should serve the entire community of moi, its therefore upon the management to ensure there is proper service care delivered at the facility by providing close supervision for staff working at the facility, make funds available to purchase all the resources required for medication and finally acquire more medics for the hospital to revive the state of the hospital.
